There were calls last night for a crackdown on lags at Addiewell by management at the privately-run jail.

The videos were still viewable yesterday on Tik-Tok, where an account hosting the content has almost 700 followers.

One source at the jail – who highlighted the videos – said: “The videos show utter contempt for the jail management and the regime. Addiewell is being treated like a holiday camp.

“Prisoners have the freedom of the place to apparently brew up hooch and there is also clearly a supply line for Class A drugs, like Spice, which has wreaked havoc in jails up and down the UK.

“It’s no wonder that Addiewell is seen to be the most violent and dangerous prison in Scotland.”

The TikTok account features drill music and has dozens of groups of prisoners partying in cells.

Hashtags on the videos include “whosaysjailwizhard”.
