Wheel of Fortune left viewers completely stunned after Emil de Leon pulled off what many are calling an “impossible” final solve, correctly guessing “new baby buggy” with almost no visible clues on the board
With only two letters on the board, solving Wednesday night’s final Wheel of Fortune might have been an impossible feat for anyone but Emil de Leon.

The game-show sensation made an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ eponymous talk show to explain how he won Wednesday night’s game, correctly spelling out “new baby buggy” with only the letters N and E on the board. And according to de Leon, he doesn’t have a winning strategy – he’s just a natural.
“The first letters that I learned how to say are R, S, T, L, N, E,” de Leon told DeGeneres, adding that he’s been watching the show for as long as he can remember. “Those are the prominent letters in Wheel of Fortune.”
de Leon said that, after a lifetime of watching Wheel of Fortune, he had only recently applied to be one of the show’s contestants – and, ironically, he scored the slot on his first try.
“That’s your specialty,” guest Jason Bateman joked.
As for the “new baby buggy” solve? de Leon explained to DeGeneres that it was all intuition. “It’s pretty obvious that the first word was ‘new, ‘ ” de Leon explained of the solve, which . “Then I worked on baby, ‘new baby’ … it just sounds right. Then, the hard part, buggy … I just worked on that ‘B’ again,” he said of the win, which Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak called the “most amazing solve in my 30+ years on the show.”
