Virgin River Season 7 Begins With a Disturbing D.e.a.th in the First Five Minutes, Leaving Fans Shocked and Hinting at the Darkest, Most Emotional Chapter Yet
The wildly popular romantic drama follows nurse practitioner Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge), who is new to the idyllic Northern California hamlet after suffering the loss of her husband.
After a whirlwind romance with local bar owner and ex-Marine Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), the pair have tied the knot in season six and are now discussing the possibility of parenthood.
However, their nuptials were rather overshadowed by the strange disappearance of Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) the following morning, with the new preview finally confirming what happens next.

The new clip reveals that Jack discovered the dead body of local drug dealer Calvin (David Cubitt/Josh Blacker), the father of Charmaine’s twins.
Even more concerning is the fact that Charmaine herself, plus the babies, are now missing.
Fans will have to tune in to the new season, releasing this Thursday (12th March), to piece together what happened the night of Jack and Mel’s wedding and where Charmaine is now.
Speaking to Tudum, Virgin River showrunner Patrick Sean Smith said: “When we committed to the cliffhanger of season six with Charmaine not showing up at the wedding, and spent all season planting seeds of danger for her, we went back and forth on, what did Jack see?
“Who did he see? Did he see anything?”
Viewers will remember the sixth season, released back in December 2024, concluded with an ominous shot of Jack seeming concerned by what he found at Charmaine’s house.
The jaw-dropping cliffhanger sparked countless theories over the subsequent months and the mystery has finally been resolved, only to pose even more questions for the new season of Virgin River to answer in just a couple of days.
Smith admits it “would’ve been disappointing” if Jack had simply found an empty house, assuring fans the new season will provide some satisfying answers.
Over the course of the season, it will actually be Brie (Zibby Allen) and Mike (Marco Grazzini) who answer the call to get to the bottom of Charmaine’s disappearance.
Back in Virgin River, Jack and Mel will start the “earnest steps forward in parenthood and start to experience the adoption process.
There’s also the matter of where the newlyweds will be heading on their honeymoon, promising the Netflix show’s first ever venture outside of North America for a well-earned break from the small town’s non-stop drama.
Virgin River season 7 premieres Thursday, 12th April on Netflix.
