Caleb didn’t draw a weapon.

He simply held up the photograph.

“Put the phone down, Frank.”

The diner froze.

Frank stared at him.

“You don’t understand.”

“I understand enough.”

Sophie stepped behind Caleb.

Frank’s expression changed.

“I was trying to protect her.”

“You disappeared Daniel.”

Frank shook his head.

“I helped him disappear.”

Caleb stared at him.

“Why?”

Frank finally told the truth.

Daniel had discovered that someone was using the club’s name to cover a series of illegal operations. When he tried to expose it, the people involved threatened Hannah and Sophie.

Daniel couldn’t fight them openly.

So Frank helped him disappear.

But Daniel never returned.

For years, Hannah believed he had abandoned them.

Then, shortly before her illness worsened, she discovered the truth.

The memory card contained recordings, photographs, and documents identifying the people responsible.

Caleb listened in silence.

“Is my dad alive?”

Frank looked away.

Caleb crouched beside her.

“I don’t know.”

Sophie’s eyes filled with tears.

Outside, the two vehicles across the street started their engines.

Frank looked toward the window.

“They found us.”

Caleb turned toward his brothers.

“Get her out the back.”

The bikers moved immediately.

No shouting.

No panic.

Just a quiet formation around Sophie.

As Caleb stepped toward the rear door, his phone vibrated.

Unknown number.

He answered.

For several seconds, nobody heard anything.

Then a man’s voice came through.

“Caleb?”

Caleb stopped breathing.

He knew that voice.

It belonged to Daniel.

“I know where my daughter is,” the voice continued. “And I know you’re with her.”

Caleb looked at Sophie.

Then he looked at Frank.

Daniel spoke again.

“Don’t trust anyone except the girl.”

The call ended.

Sophie stared up at Caleb.

“Was that Daddy?”

Caleb nodded slowly.

“Yes.”

For the first time in eleven years, Daniel Bennett wasn’t a missing man anymore.

He was looking for his daughter.

And somewhere beyond Pine Hollow Diner, someone was already trying to stop him.
