PART 2: What Was Hidden Beneath the Harley
Hammer didn’t touch the object beneath the motorcycle.
Instead, he called the event security team and cleared the area.
Within minutes, the charity ride had transformed into a tense, silent scene.
The elderly veteran was moved safely away.
The crowd was kept behind barriers.
Noah remained beside Hammer.
Still holding the lighter.
A local investigator eventually arrived and examined the object.
It wasn’t an explosive.
It was a small metal lockbox.
And it had been deliberately attached to the underside of the motorcycle.
Hammer stared at it.
“That’s not mine.”
Noah shook his head.
“I know.”
The investigator carefully opened the box.
Inside was an old photograph.
Hammer recognized the man immediately.
Robert Dawson.
His younger brother.
The man whose initials were engraved on Noah’s lighter.
Hammer’s face went pale.
Robert had disappeared twelve years earlier.
The official story had always been that Robert left town after a disagreement with the club.
Hammer had believed it.
Or at least, he had tried to.
But beneath the photograph was a folded piece of paper.
Hammer opened it.
Only one sentence had been written.
“Hammer, if Noah ever brings you this, don’t trust anyone wearing our colors.”
Hammer looked toward the other bikers.
Every man was wearing a black leather vest.
His expression hardened.
“Who put this here?”
Nobody answered.
Then Noah stepped forward.
“My dad did.”
Hammer looked down at him.
“Your dad is gone.”
Noah nodded.
“He told me to wait.”
“Wait for what?”
“For the man with the gray beard.”
Hammer’s chest tightened.
Noah reached into his backpack and pulled out another object.
A small key.
Hammer recognized the shape immediately.
It belonged to the club’s old storage facility.
A building nobody had used in years.
The investigator examined the key.
“Where did you get this?”
Noah answered quietly.
“My dad hid it inside my toy truck.”
Hammer stood slowly.
For twelve years, he had believed Robert had betrayed the club.
Now he was beginning to wonder whether the opposite had happened.
Maybe Robert had discovered something.
Maybe he had tried to expose it.
And maybe someone had made sure he couldn’t.
Hammer turned toward his brothers.
“Nobody leaves.”
The bikers exchanged uneasy looks.
Then one of the older members stepped forward.
“Brother…”
Hammer raised his hand.
“Not another word.”
He looked at Noah.
“Did your father tell you anything else?”
Noah nodded.
“He said if you found the box…”
He swallowed.
“…you’d have to find the silver motorcycle.”
Hammer’s face went completely still.
There had only ever been one silver motorcycle connected to Robert.
It had disappeared the same night he did.
And suddenly Hammer realized something terrifying.
The motorcycle hadn’t disappeared.
Someone had hidden it.
